My Vote for Best First Footnote

DeRouchieBook

This is how the new book, What the Old Testament Authors Really Cared About: A Survey of Jesus’ Bible opens:

If these five passages do not move you to worship, this book may cause more harm than good. This survey is designed as a springboard for delight in God––the supreme Savior, Sovereign, and Satisfier of the world. Worship is the end for which this book was created. May your study fuel a greater treasuring of God and his ways, for his glory and your good, through Jesus––the divine, crucified, and resurrected Messiah.

This has my vote for the best first footnote in a book. Ever.  The five passages from the Old Testament that the author is referring to are: Exodus 34:6-7; Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Jeremiah 31:31,33; Isaiah 53:5; and. Psalm 150:6.
