Last night was an amazing night drinking from the fire-hose of David Platt’s teaching at Secret Church 14. 10 Cross-Centered Commandments for Entertainment and Social Media

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).


1. Fear God

2. Flee sexual immorality

2.1. Flee sexual lusts (having wrong sexual desires yourself)

2.2. Flee sexual immodesty (provoking wrong sexual desires in others)

2.3. Flee sexual allurements (including inappropriate emotional attachment) outside of marriage.

2.4. Flee sexual outside of marriage

2.5. Flee entertainment that exalts, glamorizes, jokes around about,and/or makes light of sex outside of marriage


3. Speak Wisely

3.1. Think before you speak

3.1.1. Will what I say adorn the gospel?

3.1.2. Will what I say glorify God?

3.2. Avoid evil and angry speech

3.3. Avoid retaliatory and inflammatory speech

3.4. Avoid gossip and slander

3.5. Avoid grumbling and complaining

3.6. Avoid saying on a screen what you wouldn’t say in person

4. Communicate Honestly

5. Cultivate Humility

6. Have Accountability

7. Maintain Mastery

8. Guard Your Heart

8.1. From envy and jealousy

8.2. From pride and ambition

8.3. From unhealthy friendships and unhelpful associations

9. Renew Your Mind

9.1. Beware falsehood

9.3. Beware frivolity

10. Redeem Your Time

10.1. Make the most of every opportunity

10.2. Don’t neglect other priorities
