Book Watch: Lets the Nations Be Glad (3rd Ed)

I just found out that John Piper’s essential book on missions, Let the Nations Be Glad: The Supremacy of God in Missions, is going into it’s third edition.  This one will be revised and expanded throughout, including information on the prosperity gospel.  It’s supposed to be available in March 2010 and is already available for pre-order through CBD.

Considering how extraordinarily helpful the previous edition is, I can only imagine that this one will only get better.  We have everyone going on a mission trip in our church read and discuss this book as part of their spiritual preparation.  The benefits have been evident: increased understanding of the Bible and the missions imperative, as well as a deeper desire to love and glorify God.  I would recommend it to anyone who wants to understand the why, what, and how of Christian missions, locally and globally.
